In October 2023 ESCO began demolition operations for the new Southwest Airlines Cargo Facility building at Denver International Airport. The Cargo facility is a 28,000 SF building which will provide additional storage and office space for Southwest Airlines’ cargo division.
ESCO provided the entire site civil scope of work for the project including all demolition activities, mass earthwork, foundation excavation and building prep, installation of water, storm sewer and sanitary sewer utilities including 330 LF of jack & bore pipe, as well as asphalt and concrete paving. Logistical challenges included working in a very small, congested site, coordination with multiple third parties and DIA staff, and working in restricted Airside Operations Areas.
The coordination of ESCO’s many subcontractors with McCarthy and their Trade Partners was paramount to the completion of the work to meet the project schedule.
